This project showcases a stunning outdoor transformation featuring a TimberTech PVC re-deck, three distinct patio levels, a serene pond with a waterfall, a wood pergola, hanging egg chairs, and integrated lighting that brings it all together beautifully.
We began by removing the old, rotting decking and replacing it with TimberTech PVC decking. French White Oak was chosen for the main field, framed by a Castle Gate border. The railing system is TimberTech’s aluminum Impression Rail Express (IRX) in Black. When pairing TimberTech PVC decking with IRX railings, we proudly offer a lifetime warranty. The underdeck is finished with horizontal French White Oak boards for a clean, modern look.
Stepping down from the deck, you’ll find a Techo-Bloc Blu Grande patio set at a 45-degree angle to the deck. Finished in Champlain Grey, this area serves as the primary gathering space with seamless access to the rest of the backyard. Adjacent to the patio is a small, natural stone pond bordered by stacked boulders to accommodate the yard’s slope. At the peak of the slope, a 700-gallon-per-hour waterfall provides soothing, recirculating water flow.
One level down from the main patio lies a pre-existing flagstone patio and firepit area that held sentimental value for the client. Rather than replacing it, we carefully lifted, cleaned, and re-laid the flagstones with 3/8″ gravel infill. The existing firepit and seat walls were pressure-washed, and two hanging egg chairs were added for additional seating and comfort.
Further down, two stone steps lead to a lower Techo-Bloc patio constructed with 6×13” Blu 60mm pavers, also in Champlain Grey. These pavers were laid in a contrasting direction to the Blu Grande patio and are partially shaded by a wooden pergola.
Throughout the entire space, we installed low-voltage lighting—including riser lights, spotlights, and path lights—to enhance ambiance and safety. One of our favorite lighting features is the dramatic shadow play created by the spotlights on the large boulder near the egg chairs.
