Brook Green #1 OutdoorLiving Pittsboro

Designed in partnership with Dunning Custom Homes, this landscape was built to complement one of Chatham County's most striking contemporary builds — a Gold Award winner in the 2025 Parade of Homes.

The challenge was creating grounds that could hold their own alongside the home’s bold architecture: clean lines, stacked stone, and floor-to-ceiling glass surrounded by a mature hardwood forest. Every decision in the landscape was made with that balance in mind.

Natural local boulders anchor the front and side beds, their scale and character a perfect match for the drama of the home’s modern exterior. Limestone steps provide refined entry points that contrast beautifully against the rugged boulder arrangements, while flowing mulched beds frame the home and driveway with generous curves that feel intentional and organic at the same time. The aerial view reveals the full composition — boulder-edged island beds, sweeping lawn panels of lush Zoysia sod, and a winding path tucked into the rear landscape that invites exploration of the wooded property.

Thoughtfully selected plantings throughout the beds layer texture and seasonal interest without competing with the home’s architectural statement. Landscape lighting placed among the boulders and along the entry elevates the curb appeal well into the evening, casting a warm glow across the stone and greenery. The result is a landscape that feels custom-designed not just for the lot, but for this specific home — a fitting complement to an award-winning build.
